Conservation Commission advances draft wetland ordinance

Conservation Commission · Meeting of July 2, 2026

NH HILLSBOROUGH — Hillsborough Conservation Commission votes to advance draft wetland ordinance to Planning Board. Chair Richard Head was unanimously authorized to present the draft ordinance at a Planning Board meeting, seeking support for protections based on category-specific setbacks. The commission also unanimously approved a $300 annual payment to the NH Lakes Association.

In ongoing business, summer intern Jack Blevens reported trail maintenance needs at the Riverwalk and Shedd Brook, including log removal, overgrowth clearing, and potentially a warning sign for steep grades; commissioners volunteered to inspect and add trail markers. The commission discussed designs for informational kiosks at conservation areas.
