Selectmen waive field fees, approve boathouse work amid HYAA funding dispute

NH HILLSBOROUGH — Hillsborough Selectmen waive three-year field fees for youth athletics nonprofit. The Board voted 2-0 with Chairman Iris Campbell abstaining to eliminate usage charges for the Hillsborough Youth Athletic Association, resolving a dispute over maintenance costs after the town of Deering stopped its annual $25,000 contribution to shared recreational facilities. Selectman James Bailey said Deering has not responded to town outreach and urged further direct negotiation.
The Board authorized $3.3 million in payroll and accounts payable checks, including $2 million to Hillsborough School District, approved an additional $150,000 for the Woods Woolen Mill project, and appointed Tom DiGiovanni to the Historic District Commission.
