NH HILLSBOROUGH — Hillsborough Board of Selectmen endorses $3.4M Brownfield cleanup grant and $500K housing funds. Chairman James Bailey authorized Town Administrator Laura Buono to apply for the federal Brownfield Grant for 171 West Main Street, former Associated Electric site, with no local match required and creation of a five-member Brownfield Steering Committee to guide reuse planning. The Selectmen also unanimously approved a Community Development Block Grant application to fund Rumrill LLC's renovation of 17 West Main Street into two new affordable two-bedroom apartments and building-wide fire sprinkler installation, with the town retaining up to $35,000 in administrative costs.
The board adopted the required Residential Anti-displacement Plan and updated Housing and Community Development Plan, bringing three major federal-funding initiatives forward simultaneously.
