NH HILLSBOROUGH — Selectboard approves Brownfield cleanup and housing grants for downtown Hillsborough. The board voted unanimously to pursue a $3.4 million EPA Brownfield grant for contamination remediation at 171 West Main Street with no local match, and a $500,000 Community Development Block Grant to rehabilitate the Rumrill building at 17 West Main Street into affordable housing with a $35,000 town administrative allocation. The Brownfield grant will fund a three-year cleanup and establish a Steering Committee to guide future reuse; the property's end-use options include a municipal complex or commercial sale.
The board also approved a $216,770.85 reimbursement to the Water and Sewer Commission and adopted an updated Housing and Community Development Plan required for CDBG eligibility.
