Selectboard finalizes 2026 budget with capital reserve fund allocations

NH HILLSBOROUGH — Hillsborough Selectboard finalizes 2026 budget with capital reserve splits. Chairman James C. Bailey and Board members Iris Campbell and Selectman Richard Pelletier unanimously approved allocating $46,106 from the Highway Department Capital Reserve Fund toward a sidewalk tractor purchase and $40,000 from the Fire Department Equipment Capital Reserve Fund toward a pumper and heavy rescue vehicle costing $185,000 total, with $145,000 to come from taxation.

Police Chief Chris Parsons scaled back the Animal Control Budget after determining the ACO position will not be filled this year.
